This non-profit organization was formed by patients, relatives, volunteers, collaborators and professionals with the main objective of reducing the impact caused by cancer and improving the lives of patients and their families. The organization works to provide health education, support, and company to people affected by cancer and finance research projects that will allow for better diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Service-Learning participants may help by talking to patients, providing entertainment and emotional support, and collaborating on fundraising and cancer prevention campaigns.

Senior Citizen's Home

Spanish (High Intermediate)

This gerontological center provides permanent and temporary care to elderly people living in a situation of dependency or requiring comprehensive social health care. Its main objective is to provide services to achieve maximum quality of life and well-being for residents. Service-Learning participants will help coordinate activities aimed to improve residents' personal autonomy and well-being such as playing games with them, taking walks, talking, and reading.
