Family Support Center for Children with Autism
Spanish (Intermediate)
The mission of the organization is to support children on the autism spectrum as well as their families. The aim is to enhance the well-being of the family unit through fun and recreational activities including music, art, and play therapy as well as guardian(s) support mechanisms. Additionally, the center provides space to respond to the needs of this group in Granada. Serve alongside community members to carry out workshops designed for children with autism which promote autonomy, manual skills, and psychomotor skills. PLEASE NOTE: In July, the organization has summer school for children with special needs. The organization is closed in August.
Community Foundation for Youth and Senior Citizens
Spanish (Beginning), Spanish (Advanced)
This local foundation's mission is to promote human development and preserve the integrity and cultural identity of social groups in Granada. Service-learning participants are needed to provide support to senior citizens and youth involved in the foundation's programs. Participants can build relationships with community members and help facilitate games for senior citizens, tutoring sessions for youth, theater activities, and summer school programs. PLEASE NOTE: This organization is closed in August. Participants interested in working with senior citizens must have an advanced level of Spanish. Participants interested in working with youth may have beginner to advanced level of Spanish.
